Overview
Focus is an engineering capstone project: AI glasses for people with visual and hearing impairments that offer speech transcription and translation, sign-language interpretation, obstacle alerts and LLM Q&A.
How it works
Deep-learning and computer-vision models turn speech into text (133 languages) and ASL gestures into text and speech. The glasses detect oncoming obstacles, track heart rate and SpO2, and answer questions with an LLM. The team reports up to 5 hours of battery life.
