Overview
bbTalkie is a hands-free mini walkie-talkie that uses an embedded neural network to detect voices automatically, trigger animations on keywords and show other speech as text bubbles. It was built for chatting while cycling.
How it works
It runs on an ESP32-S3 with 16 MB flash and 8 MB octal PSRAM, using Espressif's ESP-SR framework for voice activity detection and keyword spotting under ESP-IDF 5.4. The repo includes CAD and cutting files, PCB schematics and Gerbers, a BOM and tools. A separate branch controls Sony cameras over Bluetooth.
